Well established natural wine bar in the heart of Copenhagen seeks Head Sommelier / Wine Director.
Do you enjoy working with natural wine and a close knit team? Do you have extensive managerial experience and strong interpersonal skills? Pompette may be the place for you! We are looking for a qualified Sommelier / Wine Director to continue Pompette’s forward thinking natural wine program.
Job Title: Sommelier / Wine Director
General job responsibilities:
- Maintaining and curating a dynamic wine selection
- Attending industry wine tastings
- Wine buying for Pompette while overseeing the budget
- Maintaining the bottle shop and all customer relations
- Managing a growing team
Qualifications:
- A motivated wine professional with at least 10 years of hospitality experience
- Has worked within the restaurant industry in Copenhagen for at least 3 years
- Has experience in restaurant management for a minimum of 2 years
- Possesses a strong understanding of natural wine
- Tangible experience in the wine making process is of benefit
- Specific knowledge of New World wines is a large advantage
- Has experience in wine buying & maintaining budgets
- Has experience in curating a dynamic wine selection
- Formal education not required
- English as a primary language
- Proficient skills in Danish are an advantage
